Jay McShann & Ahmet Ertegun: dos grandes nombres en la historia del jazz / Jay McShann & Ahmet Ertegun: two great names in jazz history

Jay McShann

Vamos a extrañar a Jay McShann y Ahmet Ertegun.

We're going to miss Jay McShann and Ahmet Ertegun.
Jay McShann, a pianist behind the Charlie Parker's shadow, but still active until recent years, always keeping alive that particular Kansas City sound. In years to come it's clear that his art will be again in the surface, at least for some of us.
And almost the same for the record producer Ahmet Ertegun, with his brother Nesuhi Ertegun he was able to help musicians like John Coltrane, Charles Mingus, Ornette Coleman, Les McCann, Hank Crawford, Ray Charles, and others like Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones, Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, all under the Atlantic Records roof.
Two losses for the music, but looking back, a lot to be grateful.
