La conexión entre música e imágenes para enriquecer los sonidos no es nueva, estos días, algunas veces, las imágenes pueden ser mucho mejores que la música, artistas con nada nuevo en sus almas, entonces todas las apuestas están en el campo visual , pero, los verdaderos artistas pueden construir un puente con su creatividad como músicos, y las imágines pueden ser estupendas como la música entregada, este es el caso con "La voz más allá" de Roxana Amed (Sony / RCA Victor, 2009).

"La voz más allá" (Sony / RCA Victor, 2009) no es un descuidado DVD con dos o tres canciones de Roxana Amed, con los oyentes, y espectadores, como objetivos monetarios, tenemos aquí una brillante, excelente producción, funcionando como un diario personal sobre la carrera de Roxana Amed.

Desde su primer álbum, "Limbo" (EMI, 2004) , el comienzo de una bella amistad musical con el talentoso Pedro Aznar (productor, arreglador, y apoyo celestial, en sus dos primeras grabaciones solistas), y canciones como "Amelia" de Joni Mitchell, ahora un clásico en el repertorio de Roxana Amed, si, podemos hablar de "clásicos" en la carrera de esta joven artista, porque sólo músicos creativos y dotados pueden conseguir semejante objetivo.
A la bella, y triste balada "Lonely people", o Adrián Iaies uniendo fuerzas en la canción, y título del segundo álbum de Roxana Amed, "Entremundos" (S-Music, 2006).

Y regresando al modo en que este DVD fue realizado, añadiendo versiones originales y en vivo, como aquella junto a León Gieco, un maravilloso dúo en la canción de Tom Waits "Georgia Lee", o "Time after time", de Cyndi Lauper, con la mágica voz invitada de Sandra Mihanovich.

También Roxana Amed en voz y guitarras, composiciones (ella es una gran compositora), y su banda habitual: Claudio "Coki" Iuliano (guitarras), Sebastián Espósito (guitarras), Fernando Galimany (contrabajo), Mario Gusso (percusión), refrescando material de las grabaciones de Roxana Amed, mostrando una profunda conexión e intercambio de ideas.

Hay suficiente espacio y buen gusto para una amorosa versión de "Blue" de Joni Mitchell, nuevamente con el sutil arte de Adrián Iaies en el piano, y una vibrante version a capella de "Bridge over trouble waters".

Aún cuando encontrarán a Roxana Amed hablando en el DVD, breves y sabias palabras sobre su carrera, el proceso para crear música, su vida diaria, cons sus altas y bajas, "La voz más allá" (Sony / RCA Victor, 2009), como ella dice, funciona como un diario, un diario musical que amaran leer, una y otra vez.

The connection between music and images to enrich the sounds isn't new, these days, sometimes, images can be much better than the music, artists with nothing new in their souls, then all the bets are on the visual field, but, the real artists can build a bridge with their creativity as musicians, and the images can be marvellous as the music delivered, this is the case with Roxana Amed's "The voice beyond" (Sony / RCA Victor, 2009).

"The voice beyond" (Sony / RCA Victor, 2009) isn't a careless DVD with two or three songs from Roxana Amed, with the listeners, and viewers, as monetary targets, we've got here a brilliant, excellent production, working as a personal diary about Roxana Amed's career.

From her first album, "Limbo" (EMI, 2004) , the beginning of a beautiful musical friendship with the talented Pedro Aznar (producer, arranger, and heavenly support in her two first solo recordings), and songs as Joni Mitchell's "Amelia", now a classic in Roxana Amed's repertoire, yes, we can talk about "classics" in the career of this young artist, because only really gifted and creative musicians can achieve such goal.
To the beautiful, and sad ballad "Lonely people", or Adrián Iaies joining forces in the song, and title from Roxana Amed second album, "Entremundos" (S-Music, 2006).

And, going back to the way this DVD was done, adding original and live sessions, as the one along with León Gieco, a wonderful duo in Tom Waits song "Georgia Lee", or Cyndi Lauper's "Time after time", with the magical guest voice from Sandra Mihanovich.

Also Roxana Amed on vocals and guitars, compositions (she's a great composer), and her regular band: Claudio "Coki" Iuliano (guitars), Sebastián Espósito (guitars), Fernando Galimany (acoustic bass), Mario Gusso (percussion), refreshing material from Roxana Amed albums, showing a deep connection and interchange of ideas.

There's enough space for a lovely version from Joni Mitchell's "Blue", again with the subtle art from Adrián Iaies on the piano, and a vibrant a capella version from "Bridge over trouble waters".

Even when you'll find Roxana Amed talking on the DVD, brief and wise words about her career, the process to create music, her everyday life, with ups and downs, "The voice beyond" (Sony / RCA Victor, 2009), as she says, works as a diary, a musical diary you'll love to read, and enjoy, over and over again.

Martín Iannaccone: un largo, y maravilloso camino a la música / Martín Iannaccone: a long, and wonderful road to music

Me gusta buscar música nueva, todo el tiempo, pero en algunas ocasiones puede ser una tarea abrumadora, demasiada buena música, y muy poco tiempo, entonces, algún extraño episodio puede traer a la superficie un artista que conocen, pero no estaban prestando verdadera atención, ese es el caso con el chelista y compositor Martín Iannaccone.
Nacido en Buenos Aires, Argentina, miembro de una familia profundamente musical, su padre, Roberto Yanés, cantante, pianista y compositor, una de las más bellas voces que conozco.
Pero Martín Iannaccone tomó hace mucho tiempo su propio sendero en la música, compartiendo grabaciones y escenarios con semejantes talentos como Pedro Aznar, Juan Carlos "Mono" Fontana, Ernesto Jodos, Santiago Vázquez, Pablo Bobrowicky, Mehmet Ergin, Mario Verandi, Simon Stockhausen.
Varios géneros y estilos, siempre al más alto nivel, y finalmente, desde hace algunos años, tomando la decision de convertir a Berlín en su hogar.
No es tarea fácil poner etiquetas a la música de Martín Iannaccone, y si me conocen, saben que no me gusta etiquetar la música, pero, sólo para ayudar a los "nuevos oyentes", hay un poco de tango y música folklórica de Argentina, modernos sonidos electrónicos, algo de jazz aquí y allí, pero esencialmente, fabulosa música a lo largo del camino.

I like to search for new music, all the time, but sometimes can be an overwhelming task, too much good music, and very little time, then, some strange episode can bring to the surface an artist you know, but you weren't paying real attention, that's the case with the cellist and composer Martín Iannaccone.
Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, member of a deeply musical family, his father, Roberto Yanés, singer, pianist, composer, one of the most beautiful voices I know.
But Martín Iannaccone took a long time ago his own path in music, sharing recording and stages with such talents as Pedro Aznar, Juan Carlos "Mono" Fontana, Ernesto Jodos, Santiago Vázquez, Pablo Bobrowicky, Mehmet Ergin, Mario Verandi, Simon Stockhausen.
Several genres and styles, always at the highest level, and finally, since some years ago, taking the decision to make Berlin his home.

Desde hace algún tiempo hay una interesante banda allí fuera . Juan Quintero en guitarrra y voz, Andrés Beeuwsaert en teclado y voz, y Mariano Cantero en percusión y voz, ellos son el Aca Seca Trío, y están cerrando su Gira Argentina 2007.
Con un más que especial punto de vista sobre el folklore de Argentina, dos discos, muchas giras y shows en vivo sobre sus espaldas, y ustedes pueden unirse a ellos esta noche, noviembre 5, 2007, 20:30 hs., en La Trastienda Club (Balcarce 460, Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires), y también el 12 y 19 de noviembre.

Después de la exitosa presentación del último viernes, Roxana Amed estará nuevamente en Notorious (Callao 966, Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires), mañana, viernes 2, noviembre 2007, 21:30 hs.
Su hermosa voz, su guitarra, y la habitual buena compañía de Claudio Iuliano en guitarras, Fernando Galimany en contrabajo y Mario Gusso en percusión.
Pero eso no es todo, en noviembre 8, 2007, ella estará en el XI Festival de Jazz "Santiago Grande Castelli" (Rosario, Argentina), y en noviembre 9 y 10 en Córdoba, el 9 en el CPC (Centro de Participación Comunal) Centro Cultural Arguello (5021 Avenida Rafael Nuñez, Córdoba, Argentina), y el 10 en Fragueiro 2020 (Mariano Fragueiro 2020, Bº Alta Córdoba, Córdoba, Argentina).
Al mismo tiempo Roxana Amed está trabajando en la realización de un video musical de la canción "Georgia Lee" (compuesta por Tom Waits y Kathleen Brennan, e incluida en el álbum de Roxana Amed "Entremundos"- S-Music, 2006), y como en el álbum estará León Gieco también en el video. La versión en español de la canción fue realizada por Roxana Amed y Pedro Aznar.
Y aún hay más. En diciembre, un DVD será grabado con canciones de "Limbo" (EMI, 2004) y "Entremundos" (S-Music, 2006), con material inédito e invitados especiales, todo esto en un concierto especial, algo que no podemos esperar para disfrutar.

Me encanta comenzar la semana con buenos recuerdos del fin de semana, una clase de "día adiconal de felicidad", y recordando el concierto de Roxana Amed en el Teatro de la Cova (Av. del Libertador 13900, Martínez, Buenos Aires, Argentina), simplemente excelente, un minuto es suficiente para descubrir las maravillas del sonido, especialmente cuando sobre el escenario existe semejante fuerza creativa como Roxana Amed.
El comienzo habitual, una canción "a capella", en esta ocasión "Amazing grace", una canción tradicional, un poderoso punto de inicio.
Después de eso, canciones de los discos anteriores de Roxana Amed: "Limbo" (EMI, 2004) y "Entremundos" (S-Music, 2006), trayendo a la superficie no sólo a una gran intérprete, también una excelente compositora, no es tarea fácil componer con intensidad y creatividad a lo largo de toda una carrera artística.
Su banda está ahora, con Claudio Iuliano y Sebastián Espósito en guitarras, Fernando Galimany en contrabajo y Mario Gusso en percusión, no sólo para respaldar la voz y la guitarra de Roxana Amed, ellos son cálidos proveedores de sonidos, gracias a su talento en cada instrumento.
Ella no es una cantante de jazz, aún cuando puedan encontrar algo de jazz en su música, pequeñas marcas, algunas son cicatrices, otras dulces recuerdos, gracias a su talento no es necesario poner etiquetas.
Fuertes declaraciones, como "Different", un absolutamente profundo y oscuro relato como "Limbo", partido en dos por la brillante inspiración de "De cómo las cosas buenas brillan como una mañana de sol".
Y, casi con medio show detrás, la invitada especial: Sandra Mihanovich.
Dos canciones primero: "Todo tiene un lugar", del disco de Sandra Mihanovich con el mismo nombre, del 2000 (compuesta por Sandra Baylac y Roxana Amed), y "Tu cuarto propio".
Desde el comienzo hay una conexión emocional entre las dos artistas, en ambas canciones, y la audiencia puede disfrutar un inusual momento en el arte de nuestros días.
Más canciones de Roxana Amed sola con su banda, "Lejos de casa", un dúo con el guitarrista Claudio Iuliano, una canción tan hermosa y dolorosa al mismo tiempo.
Sandra Mihanovich estará de regreso para cantar "Georgia Lee", de Tom Waits, grabada en "Entremundos" (S-Music, 2006) con León Gieco,
una terrible historia sobre el mundo que vivimos, repleto de horror algunas veces, tristemente muchas veces.
Para el final, también de "Entremundos" (S-Music, 2006), "Friends", de Led Zeppelin, para dejar a una gran audiencia feliz para el camino de regreso al hogar.
Y, después de todo, pequeñas notas adicionales, como la nueva guitarra en las manos de Roxana Amed, un bello instrumento para aún más bellas creaciones, y, aunque no estuvo allí (está trabajando en tantos proyectos ahora...), Pedro Aznar, productor de "Limbo" (EMI, 2004) y "Entremundos" (S-Music, 2006), presente no sólo con algunos arreglos, también con su amable espíritu.
Entonces, el buen sonido, no solamente porque el sonido del teatro fue "acústica y mecánicamente" bueno, porque algunos músicos decidieron recordar que no se puede entregar un buen sonido sin tu alma y corazón completamente involucrado, y sabemos, después de muchos años, que Roxana Amed, y la gente a su alrededor, están trabajando duro todos los días para hacerlo


I love to start the week with good memories from the weekend, some kind of "additional day of happiness", and remembering Roxana Amed's concert at De la Cova Theater (Av. del Libertador 13900, Martínez, Buenos Aires, Argentina), simply excellent, a minute is enough to discover the wonders of sound, specially when above the stage there's such creative force as Roxana Amed.
The usual start, an "a capella" song, this time "Amazing grace", a traditional song, a powerful starting point.
After that, songs from Roxana Amed's previous albums: "Limbo" (EMI, 2004) and "Entremundos" (S-Music, 2006), bringing to the surface not only a great performer, also an excellent composer, not an easy task to compose with intensity and creativity throughout a whole artistic career.
Her band it's now, with Claudio Iuliano and Sebastián Espósito on guitars, Fernando Galimany on acoustic bass and Mario Gusso on percussion, not just to back up Roxana Amed's voice and guitar, they're warm sounds providers, thanks to their talent on each instrument.
She's not a jazz singer, even when you can find some jazz in her music, little marks, some are scars, some sweet memories, thanks to her talent there's no need to put labels.
Strong statements, like "Different", an absolutely deep and dark tale as "Limbo", split in two by a bright inspiration from "De cómo las cosas buenas brillan como una mañana de sol".
And, almost with half show behind, the special guest: Sandra Mihanovich.
Two songs first: "Todo tiene un lugar", from Sandra Mihanovich album with the same name, from 2000 (composed by Sandra Baylac and Roxana Amed), and "Tu cuarto propio".
From the beginning there's an emotional connection between the two artists, in both songs, and the audience can enjoy an unusual moment in the art of our days.
More songs from Roxana Amed alone with her band, "Lejos de casa", a duet with guitarist Claudio Iuliano, a song so beautiful and painful at the same time.
Sandra Mihanovich will be back to sing Tom Waits's "Georgia Lee", recorded in "Entremundos" (S-Music, 2006) with León Gieco, a terrible story about the world we live in. full of horror sometimes, sadly many times.
For the end, also from "Entremundos" (S-Music, 2006), "Friends", from Led Zeppelin, to let a big audience happy for the way back home.

Y el talento, si, no es sólo trabajo duro. La última grabación de Roxana Amed, "Entremundos" (S-Music, 2006), es otro paso en la carrera de una brillante artista.
Para mi es superior a su álbum previo: "Limbo" (EMI, 2004), algo natural en la evolución de un artista inteligente.
El sonido de "Entremundos" (S-Music, 2006) es claro, con profundos textos en las composiciones de Roxana Amed, y una buena elección de músicos invitados: Adrián Iaies, piano en "Entremundos", Fernando Kabusacki, guitarras en "Tus sueños", León Gieco, voz "Georgia Lee" de Tom Waits's, sólo por nombrar unos pocos, porque todos los músicos involucrados son un verdadero "dream team" para cualquier productor discográfico.
Hablando sobre productores, Pedro Aznar está aquí, y lo conocemos, el no está en una silla, jugando con las perillas de la consola, escúchenlo al piano (¿al estilo de John Cage?), en el himno de Billie Holiday "Strange fruit", entre otras colaboraciones.
En el final, bueno, no pueden poner una etiqueta a este disco, la voz de Roxana Amed viene y va, del jazz al rock, y más allá, viajando sin descanso, con una sola preocupación, darnos, a los oyentes, un gran placer.
Estaba dejando el comentario sobre esta grabación en una esquina de mi mente, pero pienso que es un acto de justicia compartir y difundir las palabras, y la música, sobre tan fantástica producción del 2006.

For me it's above her previous album: "Limbo" (EMI, 2004), something natural in the evolution of an intelligent artist.
"Entremundos" (S-Music, 2006) sound is clear, with deep lyrics in Roxana Amed's compositions, and a good choice of guest musicians: Adrián Iaies, piano on "Entremundos", Fernando Kabusacki, guitars on "Tus sueños", León Gieco, vocals on Tom Waits's "Georgia Lee", just to name a few, because all the musicans involved are really a "dream team" for any record producer.
Talking about producers, Pedro Aznar it's here, and we know him, he's not on a chair, playing with the console knobs, listen him at the piano (John Cage's style?), on Billie Holiday's anthem "Strange fruit", among other collaborations.
At the end, well, you can't put a label to this record, Roxana Amed's voice come and go, from jazz to rock, and beyond, travelling without rest, with just one worry, giving us, the listeners, a great pleasure.
I was leaving the comment about this recording in a corner of my mind, but I think it's an act of justice to share and spread the words, and music, about such fantastic 2006's production.
