Vengan y únanse a nosotros este sábado a las 14:00 hs. (septiembre 29, 2007) para la interpretación de Vanessa Sheldon, la DOCTORA Sheldon (una de las más jóvenes profesoras de música en el país... Ella es Profesora en College of the Desert - COD -) estará tocando su arpa y presentando su nuevo grupo / nuevo material. El grupo incluye otro arpista y dos guitarristas /cantante / cantautores. Será maravilloso.

Aún estamos realizando videos para la competencia de Fractured Atlas. El tema de Chordata es "COMO CONSTRUIR UN ARTISTA".
El último fin de semana fue grandioso...tuvimos una visita del Sky is Falling Collective, un grupo de artistas callejeros y músicos... BUENOS artistas (eso es lo esencial)... Ellos vinieron y comenzaron a pintar lo que será el Chordata World HQ (hmmm...¿oficina?)

Los poetas que nos visitaron, Randolph Maxted y Lee Balan están involucrados con un show que se estrenará en el Desert Pride Center este sábado a las 19:00 hs... Llamado "Body Language" ("Lenguaje Corporal") se exhibirá desde el 29/9 al 27/10.

Richard Meyers y Liz Gilbert fueron filmados para el show televisivo de Joey English, hablando de Chordata, Faux Fakes, y las pinturas de Richard. Sale al aire el lunes, octubre 1, en CBS 10 (Time Warner) entre las 11:30 hs. y las 12:30 hs.

Come join us this saturday at 2 pm (september 29, 2007) on for a performance by Vanessa Sheldon, DOCTOR Sheldon (one of the youngest music professors in the country... She is a Prof at College of the Desert - COD -) will be playing her harp and introducing her new group / new material . The group includes another harpist and 2 guitarist / singer / songwriters. Should be wonderful.

We are still making videos for the Fractured Atlas competition. Chordata's theme is "HOW TO BUILD AN ARTIST".
Last weekend was great...we had a visit from members of the Sky is Falling Collective, a group of street artists and musicians...GOOD artists (that's the main thing)...They came out and began to paint what will be Chordata's WORLD HQ (hmmm...office?).

Visiting poets Randolph Maxted and Lee Balan are involved with a show opening at the Desert Pride Center this Saturday evening at 7 pm... Called "Body Language" it runs 9/29 - 10/27. Information: 760 327 2313

Richard Meyers and Liz Gilbert taped the Joey English Television show, talking about Chordata, Faux Fakes, and Richard's painting . This airs on monday , october 1, on CBS 10 (Time Warner) between 11:30 am and 12:30 pm.

Chordata: el buen arte está vivito y coleando / Chordata: the good art it's alive and kicking

Hoy, desde las 17:00 hs. en adelante, otra oportunidad para disfrutar la experiencia Chordata.
Chordata, un nuevo proyecto en el desierto, arte sin fines de lucro, un edificio de 465 metros cuadrados en las montañas de Santa Rosa (24 kilómetros subiendo por la ruta 74 del Palm Desert en Pinyon Pines), para abrir un nuevo espacio y concepto para el arte.
Y hoy dos diferentes propuestas, para músicos y artistas:

MUSICOS: Esta es una gran, interpretación abierta / ensayo / espacio para proyectos, y necesitamos ayuda para establecer el estudio de grabación, agregando colores a nuestro experimento sonoro, y mucho más. Es un proyecto que recién está comenzando, y el futuro contiene toneladas de posibilidades, desde podcasts en vivo de interpretaciones, eventos, colaboraciones, hasta intercambios culturales sin fronteras... Nos encantaría verlos y escucharlos... Vengan a hacer algo de ruido. Traigan su equipamiento, instrumentos, y siéntanse libres.

ARTSITAS: de todos los tipos y medidas. El espacio aguarda... Preparamos todo para que jueguen con pintura, dibujo. y otros medios. Estamos pensando también en un área del edificio para un espacio de escritores / poetas... un cuarto para escribir / biblioteca / sitio de retiro.

Esto recién está comenzando, porque desde el 14 de septiembre, 2007, el espacio estará abierto las noches de los viernes desde las 20:00 hs. hasta tarde, y los sábados desde las 14:00 hs. en adelante. Traigan comida, bebidas y un asiento cómodo (¡estamos algo cortos de esos elementos de momento!)
El estudio es, en si mismo, un completo trabajo creativo en elaboración... Vengan para unirse a nosotros. ¡Hagan su marca!
Se está trabajando en la página de internet de Chordata, pero hay información en anodyne 2. Cuando el sitio de Chordata esté funcionando, será una extensión del estudio y un buen lugar para que ustedes puedan incluir enlaces que nos conectarán con una gran comunidad de creativos de cada disciplina, así como también otros espacios de arte alternativo y grupos.


Bueno mis amigos, únanse a Liz Gilbert (artista, músico, gran mente creativa) y Richard Meyers (artista, pintor, gran mente creativa), su esfuerzo para difundir otra forma de arte, una humana, más cercana manera, está llamándonos a todos nosotros por un poco de ayuda.


Today, from 5 pm onwards, another chance to enjoy the Chordata's experience.
Chordata, a new project in the desert, arts non profit, a 5,000 square foot building in the Santa Rosa mountains (15 miles up Highway 74 from Palm Desert in Pinyon Pines), to open a new space and concept for art.
And today two differents proposals, for musicians and for artists:

MUSICIANS: This is a great, open performance / rehearsal / project space, and we need help setting up the recording studio, adding colors to our sound experiment, and lots more. There's a project just starting, and the future holds tons of possibilities, from live podcasts of performances, events, collaborations, to cultural exchanges without borders… We'd love to see and hear you… Come make some noise. Bring your gear, instruments, and feel free.

ARTISTS: of all types and sizes. The space awaits …We're all set up to play around with paint, drawing, and other mediums. We're also envisioning one area of the building as a writer / poet space…a writing room / library / retreat.

This is just the beginning, because since september 14, 2007, the space will be open on friday nights from 8 pm until late, and saturdays from 2 pm on. Bring food, drink and a comfortable seat (we're a bit short on those at the moment!).
The studio is, in itself, a complete creative work in progress… Come join us. Make your mark !
The Chordata web site is being worked on, but there is some info up on anodyne 2. When the Chordata site is up, it will be an extension of the studio and will be a good place for you to post links which will connect up with a big international community of creatives from every discipline, as well as other alternate art venues and groups.
